The Vineyards

The Ribeiro area is situated in the middle of the Miño, Avia and Arnoia river valleys. The Avia valley is facing south-west and so has the best conditions for wine and this is where the best wines traditionally come from.

Here is where the three hectares of vineyard are located in four vineyards owned by Adegas Valdavia which as a ‘harvester-producer’ manufactures its wines exclusively for its own production.

All the vines are planted on slopes facing the same direction regardless of the condition of the land, making the most of the benefit of the sun.

To produce our wines we have selected the main varieties from the Ribeiro area, such as Treixadura, Albariño, Loureria, Lado, Torrontés for white wines and Mencía, Caíño and Souson for red.
